     Students learned two new songs during this unit, Follow the Drinking Gourd and My Old Kentucky Home. Some students used tambourines, triangles, and wood blocks.

Students made bookmarks using photographs taken at different Underground Railroad locations.

We learned about many different people of the Underground Railroad in this unit such as John Parker, John Rankin, and Harriet Tubman. We also learned of the many escape stories of the slaves.

There are no known photographs of John Parker a freed black slave who helped in the efforts of the Underground Railroad. This student chose to make their stamp a silhouette of John Parker.

A unit's worth of work! We worked very hard during this unit, learning through Literature, a Power Point Presentation and a video.
